and ended up in mazda heaven
I have bought what looks like a totally rust free
J limited
1.6 yellow mk1 J321 HGF hence the nickname dusty bin those of you not old enough look it up
first job as the prop was in the cabin of the car and Kyle the guy i bought it from told me the diff was fubr, replacing the diff and prop was first on the list
ok for some reason the drive shaft has popped out of the diff on the driver side
old diff and new diff new one is the dirty one
old dif looks to have been welded for drifting and has exploded
early 1.6 open diffs are shit for welding (just dont)

Both arches and sills are in brand new condition and have no signs of welding at all

Well i have decided as both doors are dented and both hinges have worn and dropped, drivers front wing has dents and so does the drivers rear wing
and the respray that was added to the car really wasent that great that i am going to totaly respray the shell.
this decition was made much easier as i have most of the trim of for cleaning and or replacing so a few pics of more trim removed below

Dirty but no rot under the rubber which is a bonus
start of the paint prep and as she is stinking dirty a good clean and a rub down to key up the old paint is in order
A few dents and holes filled
the paint in the boot is cheap rattle can stuffso i need to remove it before i can re coat with 2 pac paint or it will react
Thats the drivers rear half done
i set a goal and that was just one side a day and i stuck to it.

some one cut the wires to fit these doors and didn't realise there is a plug just inside the cabin for just this occation
you can see here (just ) that she has been respraid 2 times at least in her past as the last time they stopped were the rear wing flat hits the door return (you can see the line at the top (just) and were i have removed the trim its the correct colour underneath
cleaned and sanded up to the front wings
so front wings noes cone and bonnet left to clean fill and sand
and then sort out the new doors and boot lid ready for paint..
